On a rather gloomy January day Protect Earth joined forces with a Farming and Wildlife Advisory group (FWAG) to plant a mixed tree and shrub shelterbelt on this farm near Swindon. Despite the cold and rain we managed to plant 976 saplings with the help of our volunteers. This will act as a much needed windbreak for the farm and increase biodiversity at the same time.
Brimstone Farm
Faringdon, Wiltshire
The owner of this award-winning mixed beef and arable farm in Wiltshire wanted to make her farm more environmentally friendly. A shelterbelt to reduce the impact of wind damage and soil eriosion was planned which will increase food production whilst sequestering carbon.
Working with Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group, South West (FWAG SW) and Ecologi we were able to offer funding and help with the planting.
